Last week I finished this stone portrait of my mum, dad and brother, so this week I started the etching process. Now that this is my third time doing this I'm starting to understand the process better.

After both etching processes were complete, the stone inked up really well and I was happy with how the portraits turned out. One slight problem that was noticed was these visible circles that formed on the left of the stone, these must have happened when I originally ground the stone, because when grinding the stones with the different levels of grit if they get mixed after not washing the stone and surrounding area throughly it can create these circular scratches in the stone. This is something I will look out for more thoroughly in the future.
