The second to last week left of time in the studio, this week was a sunny week, so the walks into the school of art each day looked like the below picture I took early on in the week - motivating weather.

This week was a mission to get nearly all the backgrounds of my portraits, painted, etched and then printed over the portraits. I first drew up the symbols in my sketchbook for each person and then using lithographic drawing ink I painted these symbols randomly as I went, letting it form a complete symbolic work which represents the story of the person.

(All the images from painting the backgrounds this week, it was a lot)

After printing the stones I started my last big portrait of my close friend Ameesha, it took me a little while to get the shadows around her face to the right darkness but I got there eventually and etched and printed the stone.

And finally for this week I managed to print two of the patterned stones over the portraits of my Dad and Carys (the finished portraits shown above), I'm really happy with how these have turned out, I am no longer having any problems getting the right ink mixed for the backgrounds, so it is becoming easier to do. Onto next week for a last week of printing.
